EB5 Capital Marks Milestone Reaching 10 Repaid EB-5 Projects

Washington, DC – EB5 Capital announced today repayment of its 10th EB-5 project.  The cumulative return to EB5 Capital partnerships totals $185 million and represents a successful completion of the initial EB-5 investment cycle for hundreds of investors and their families.

“Reaching 10 repaid EB-5 projects is a major milestone in our nearly 12 years in business,” said Angelique Brunner, EB5 Capital’s CEO. “A long track record of full capital returns is a strong testament to our team’s impressive expertise, professionalism, and passion for selecting sound EB-5 investment opportunities for our clients.”

A project repayment can occur via a sale or a refinance once the project is successfully built and operational. EB5 Capital has seen repayments across an array of asset types, including multi-family, hospitality, senior housing, and office/retail. The majority of these repayments were for projects in Washington, DC and California.

“Milestones such as these inspire our team and hearten our clients who entrust us with their EB-5 process,” said Brian Ostar, EB5 Capital’s Senior Vice President of Global Operations. “As we head into our company’s second decade in business, we will continue to provide our current and future EB-5 investors with superior service through all phases of their investment with EB5 Capital.”

EB5 Capital’s Investment in The Highline Repaid Early

Washington, DC – EB5 Capital announced today its $27.5 million preferred equity investment in The Highline, a Washington, DC multifamily project, has been repaid in full by the partnership with Level 2 Development, Clark Enterprises, and FCP during a recapitalization of the property.

“The full repayment of an EB-5 investment by a developer is an important moment in our business cycle,” said Gustavo Marchesini, EB5 Capital’s Investor Relations Manager. “The return of funds reaffirms our investment due diligence process and reflects well on our team’s ability to identify viable EB-5 investment opportunities for our clients.”

The Highline is a 318-unit Class A apartment building with approximately 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Located in the Union Market neighborhood of Washington, DC, The Highline represents one of six EB-5 investments made by EB5 Capital, all located within walking distance of one another. It brings additional housing to the neighboring NoMa neighborhood which serves as the headquarters for government agencies such as The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the U.S. Department of Education, as well as organizations such as CNN and XM Satellite Radio.

The project has fully satisfied the EB-5 program requirements by creating enough qualifying jobs for 55 investors.

“Successfully returning the funds of an EB-5 investment is largely dependent on the Regional Center’s ability to partner with best-in class developers and structure the investment to mitigate any potential risks. We take great pride in the level of scrutiny potential deals go through and The Highline reaffirms that our due diligence process nets a return of funds for our investors,” said Mariana Gomez, Vice President, Corporate Communications & Operations.

EB5 Capital Announces Trip to Singapore to Meet Families Interested in the United States’ EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program

Washington, DC – EB5 Capital announced today its scheduled travel to Singapore, between September 16 – September 22, to meet with individuals interested in investing in and immigrating to the United States.

“We are thrilled to be making this much-needed trip to Singapore,” said Katherine Guo, EB5 Capital’s Business Development Manager, who will make the trip on behalf of the company. “We have a number of clients from Singapore who have trusted us with their EB-5 investment and I’m looking forward to sharing our track record of successful EB-5 projects with interested parties.”

The EB-5 program permits foreign nationals the opportunity to invest $500,000 in a new, job-creating project located in a high unemployment area. The investment opportunity must create at least 10 U.S. jobs. In exchange, the investor, their spouse, and unmarried children under the age of 21 can apply for residency, and eventually a U.S. green card.

EB5 Capital is a Washington, DC-based Regional Center that provides foreign investors with investment opportunities to obtain permanent residency through the United States’ EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. The firm has served nearly 1,400 families across its more than 25 real estate investments.

“The minimum investment amount is scheduled to nearly double later this year,” said Guo. “We encouraged anyone that has been considering an EB-5 investment to move ahead in earnest before the new program regulations take effect on November 21, 2019.”
